I didn’t even know who Jack White was before checking out some pics of his that the commissioner sent me to chose for a drawing.

Pictures usually capture one moment in time, one expression of the person locked in that moment when the photography is taken. To draw someone’s portrait when the artist isn’t familiar with their face, most of the time it ends up not looking like him, even if using a reference picture.

So first, I had to get familiarized with Jack White’s face by checking some of his live shows. After seeing how cool and skillful and tight they were, The White Stripes, it turned out I wanted to see more and more. His passion and individuality got me inspired and here’s the result!
